Welcome to ECDL.

This is an internationally recognised computer qualification that gives you an additional award alongside your GCSEs. Businesses have been putting their staff through this award for many years and therefore see this as a useful indicator of IT competency.

This is the course page for Yr 9 ICT - Y11 ICT.

In Yr 9 you will learn skills for the GCSE course. You have 4 Units in the course. Unit 1 and Unit 3 Exams are worth 20% each of your overall assessment. Exams are at the end of Yr 11. Unit 2 CA and Unit 4 CA are worth 30% each of your overall assessment. You will do one assessment in Yr 10 and another in Yr 11.

At the end of the course you'll have done 2 pieces of controlled assessment (programming), worth 60% of the mark and you'll take a 1 1/2 hour written exam (non calculator)

Welcome to your ICT qualification. In Yr9 you will practice and develop the skills required later in the course. You will need to develop greater maturity in your work and make sure it is always fit for purpose and meets the demands of different audiences.
